hi! not sure if i'm included in the 'guys' my niece is addressing but since i am the most prolific blogger here, i shall contribute my opinion anyway... go see 'rang de basanti' - i liked it all except the solution the silly boys come up with, kanishk absolutely loved the comic parts (hopefully quite a bit of it, specially the explicit language, went over his head!!), ravi loved it and now wants to buy a copy, bumba thought it a perfect end and shashank walked out before it (the end).. so based on this review, you decide whether you'll like it or not!!!

a quick pre-weekend update

hi! a general update for everyone who visits this blog: i am enjoying my three-hours-a-week job a lot. sekar (uncle) and gouri (auntie) were in cal for their visa application. they should have their visa interview on may 30 and then will join krishna for his graduation ceremony. since kartick is already there, a nice re-union coming up after two years!! manya's favourite place seems to be under the dining table. if i can, i'll upload some snaps of her that archie sent. by the way, family members who visit the blog, but do not have the time to register etc. can still send comments atleast. so we know you do visit, and hopefully do read...

weekend update again

good to finally see the militant veggie blogging too. this week, at kolkata, my friend rupa has left for mumbai and from there to sydney, kanishk got the silver medal at the flat races in his school and i have finished my first week of work which till now has been very enjoyable, i saw rang de basanti and enjoyed it till the point where the only solution the unimaginative young guys can come up with is murder. very silly, very disappointing as message for youth and as representing youth of today. what do you say? do update for news from all directions.

a big thank you to all your greetings on our wedding anniversary - thought for the first time in 22 years, ravi uncle and i would not be meeting at all on the 6th, but he managed to squeeze a dinner with kanishk, rupa auntie and me into his heavy day at the vedic village! was good - all of you start planning for feb 6 2009 when we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! saw rang de basanti - great fun except for the very weird solution the young men find to their predicament - some major re-working required and i'd liked to know what the young people in our family think, so comments please...

In the world of the 'earning'

hi! this is just to tell all you hard-working family members that i have re-joined the land of the 'earning' workers. going to work for an ngo - a funding agency for organisations handling hearing disabilities - initially thrice a week for one hour a day helping them with the computer - but both sides foresee a long and fruitful association so.... this is the beginning of lots of new things i hope. thought i'd share the news with my family.
